Mmm… Donuts…

A couple in Draper, Utah, may get a taste of jail after being arrested for allegedly sticking broken razor blades in doughnuts in hopes of getting a settlement from a grocery store.

Carol Lee Leazer-Hardman, 39, and Michael Condor, 35, were arrested for filing a false police report after allegedly sticking the razor bits into doughnuts they purchased at a Smith’s Food and Drug store and then actually eating the blade-filled pastries, KSL-TV reported.

Hardman and Condor, who worked at a nearby Dollar Tree, were also charged with aggravated assault after allegedly letting one of their co-workers bite into one of their doughnuts knowing that there were razor blade pieces inside, according to MSNnow.

Draper Police Sgt. Chad Carpenter said that as detectives looked at the evidence, it became clear that “things weren’t adding up,” and that the suspects had purposely eaten fingernail- to thumbnail-sized pieces of broken razor blades, according to the Deseret News. Hospital X-rays revealed several blades in the stomachs of Hardman and Condor, according to a probable cause statement.

Police said Condor admitted that the two had planted the metal in the doughnuts so they could get a settlement from the store, KUTV-TV reported.

  1. im interested to see what proof they had that these people faked it? being trashy doesnt automatically mean that they are guilty. perhaps an employee had an axe to grind, and the company is using their money to stop any lawsuits from them.

  5. Some people work harder at breaking the law, looking for a quick buck than they do at their real job, IF they have one. Hope neither one had contributed to the gene pool yet…..

  11. And the great American tradition of suing to make a living lives on. Seriously America needs to stop with this culture of victimhood, and realise sometimes you don’t deserve a large cash settlement just because you are too lazy to work for a living. The BP oil settlements come to mind. They are paying the settlements, but more and more are popping up that aren’t deserving of it. A road construction company 200 miles away in Alabama that has never worked in the area recieved 9 million even with a highly profitable year (ended up making more than the previous 3 years). Lawyers are advocating that anyone can make easy cash and how to do it. A country ruled by leeches for the leeches. I’m not saying BP shouldn’t pay, but they should pay what they owe not to good for nothing bottom feeders looking for a quick buck.

  13. Did ya hear about the illegal Mexican Fucktard living in Los Angeles who has sued small companies over 600 times in the past 5 years and complains that he is too poor to have to pay a fee for filing and therefore gets away with it? They checked his illegal ass out and found that he never reported it to IRS and made as much as $160,000 from all this! The people behind the Powers that BE finally got his ass sent back to Mexico, but he sure messed a lot of small businesses up. And He was scooting around in a wheelchair, too! Said he was sueing in the name of the ADA.
