NBC DFW — A man has been arrested for allegedly shooting his girlfriend during a heated argument over the television show “The Walking Dead,” authorities say. Jared Gurman, 26, was charged with attempted murder after shooting his girlfriend with a .22-caliber rifle at his Williston Park, N.Y., home early Monday morning, police said Tuesday. The unidentified woman suffered a pierced lung, shattered rib and pierced diaphragm. She is in stable condition.
According to Nassau County police, Gurman was out with his girlfriend when the two began arguing over “The Walking Dead,” a television cable drama about a man who wakes from a coma to a world dominated by zombies. Gurman apparently felt strongly that a “military mishap” could occur on the show.
“He felt very adamant,” Detective Lt. Raymond Cote said at a news conference Tuesday. “There could be military mishap that would result in some sort of virus being released that could cause a terrible thing to happen.”

Conspiracy freak! Needs(ed) a life, now may have one as a felon. Oh, well, he can wait until after December 21st and plead his case.
The article didn’t even mention if she was back-talking or not, so how is the reader supposed to get a real sense of what happened that night?
For the record, she told him such a thing was impossible, and he insisted it WAS possible. Apparetnly, he decided to test if she could come back from the dead. However, she survived. Anyway, a sensible person doesn’t haul out a gun over a flippin’ TV show!
Hmm did anyone notice it says Dallas, TX then says he shot her in NY?
is it hi wife or girl friend. headline says wife article says girl friend. The true argument wasn’t over a tv show it was because she wouldn’t make him a sandwich
Pam, this article just happened to be reprinted from the Dallas-Fort Worth NBC affiliate, who had picked it up from its New York affiliate.
Bob, on the NBCDFW website, the headline now says “girlfriend.”
Juast another day in Nassau Co. Whats up carl Place?
