Times Square, NYC: Child actor Amanda Bynes was hit with a felony rap last night after a wild encounter with police in which she hurled a bong from a window of her 34th-floor apartment on West 47th Street in New York City. Cops were called when the building superintendent complained she was puffing on the pipe in the lobby, law-enforcement sources told The New York Post.

The 27-year-old actress allegedly hurled the bong at about 7:40 p.m. while the officers interviewed her, the sources said. It didn’t hit anyone. Bynes faces a felony count of tampering with evidence, along with charges of reckless endangerment and marijuana possession, sources said.

Inmate mails fake anthrax & throws poop at prison guard

Salem, OR: An Oregon inmate had five years added to his prison sentence after hurling poop at a prison guard and sending out envelopes containing fake anthrax. Andrew Barnett, now 32, was in the midst of a seven-year sentence at the Oregon State Penitentiary for assault when, in 2008, he was accused of mailing threatening letters to the sheriff of Washington County and three deputies, the Oregonian reported.

Barnett was transferred to a different facility, and in 2011, he chucked a mixture of human feces and urine at a Multnomah County deputy. The victim “actually ingested some of it,” attorney Stephen Peifer said, according to the Oregonian.

Between February and May 2012, Barnett was accused of mailing nine more threatening letters. One such letter, mailed to Peifer and opened by Peifer’s receptionist, was filled with white powder. The word “anthrax” was written on the envelope, KGW reported, and included a note that mentioned Anthrax and threatened a sore throat, blindness and a slow death. The letter also stated:

“I want [three] things in life. 1. I want you gone!!! 2. To see Pink Floyd live!!! 3. I want to lea[r]n VOODOO.”

The receptionist who opened the letter says she now suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder and is afraid of opening mail.

Man stops for beer & punches dog during police chase

Lighthouse Point, FL: Police say they caught 21-year-old Andrew Fatzinger early Sunday morning looting and vandalizing a home. He covered the walls in spray paint and mustard. He fled after stuffing computers, medication and electronics in a bag, which sparked a ground and helicopter police chase. A deputy in a helicopter says he saw Fatzinger run into a second house, then come back out with two bottles of beer. He was eventually taken down by a K-9 after he had punched the dog.

His charges include burglary, grand theft, striking a police dog and resisting arrest with violence.

Suspects pocket dial 911 while breaking into a car

Fresno, CA: Nathan Teklemariam and Carson Rinehart, both 20, were allegedly just about to break into a car when a cell phone in one of their pockets called an emergency line.

The dispatcher asked, “What is your emergency,” and received no response, but she could hear other voices on the lines. The operator listened for about a half an hour, and heard two male voices talking about finding drugs, then discussing breaking into a car, according to Fox 25. On the recorded call, one voice can be heard saying “Get the bolt and give me the hammer just in case,” followed by the sound of glass smashing. The suspects then left the scene, but the dispatcher was able to figure out where the call was coming from and sent police after the pair, CBS 47 reported.

Cops say they pulled the men over and found items in their vehicle that had been stolen from the burglarized car. The dispatcher remained on the line until Teklemariam and Rinehart were arrested. When officers told the men how they had been caught, one of the suspects allegedly stated, “This phone really called 911? Damn.”

Teklemariam and Rinehart were charged with breaking and entering, possession of stolen property and conspiracy.
